About Us
East Kent Foods is a family run business established in 1992, based in Canterbury and is owned and run by Bill & Tina Plews. Originally based in Eastry we then moved to larger premises in Canterbury and have since purchased our premises in Hersden in December 2010. Our aim is to provide an excellent service allied with competitive prices to catering establishments
throughout East Kent. Our client base covers just about the whole of the catering industry from Schools, Nursing Homes to Restaurants & Pubs. Our range of products (well over 1500 lines) is mainly ambient and cleaning but also paper products and some dairy.
All our staff are a credit to East Kent Foods and are a big part of our success with many having been with us for many years. We understand the correct balance required of quality, pricing and service for a successful relationship with our customers. Being local enables East Kent Foods to have a personal relationship with our customers, unlike the National Companies.
Since 1996 we have been a member of the Sterling Supergroup, a national buying group made of family run businesses like ourselves, with an annual turnover in excess of £500million. This buying power enables us to benefit greatly when negotiating with suppliers allowing us to pass these savings on to our customers. We are also able to offer exclusivity on all Sterling Own Label products in this area, a range that is growing rapidly.
